Private Maternity Care

Maternity care at home

If you need extra support at home with a newborn baby (or twins or triplets), we can help you find a highly qualified trusted professional to help you how, when and where you need it the most. Preparation for  baby is the key to success and Happy Nest are here to help.

A maternity nurse, or night nanny, provides families with expert, specialist care for baby and mum during the first few weeks after birth in the comfort of their own home.  Such invaluable support is there exactly when and where you need it, to help you adjust to your new family member and establish good feeding and sleeping routines.

Hire a maternity nurse

A maternity nurse provides expert support and care on an almost 24-hour basis (usually 1 day off per week and some time during the day to rest) and is there to help establish routines and enable mum to rest and recuperate.

Happy Nest Newborn Baby Care Maternity Postnatal Night Support

Hire a night nanny

A night nanny provides support from evening until morning and helps look after your baby and enables mum to rest. If you’re breast-feeding, your night nanny can bring baby to mum for a feed and then settle the baby back to sleep.

Maternity nurses and night nannies can be arranged in advance and at short notice, and can provide support on both a short-term and longer-term basis.

Why hire a maternity nurse or night nanny?

Each family has their own reasons for employing a maternity nurse or night nanny. Commonly, the support is most required where mum needs to recover from the birth or a caesarean section, with multiple births, where one or both parents need to return to work quickly, or for specialist support for breast-feeding, colic and sleeping problems. Some families, especially where both parents work, choose to employ a maternity care specialist to ensure they are rested enough to return to work – sometimes until baby is sleeping through. Our maternity care providers have extensive medical experience and training in post-natal care and their main role is to look after mum and her newborn. Your nurse can stay for as little as a week, or for a few months until you’re well settled and confident. Families that employ a maternity nurse or night nanny state that the main benefit was to be able to rest and recuperate knowing that a trusted professional has everything looked after.

“A huge thank you to Ella and her team for finding a maternity nurse at very short notice to help with my two-week-old baby. The candidate they supplied was absolutely brilliant! From my first call to the agency I was very impressed with their professionalism and felt as though they really understood what I needed and matched my requirements accordingly. I will be looking for a full-time nanny when I go back to work and will be using Happy Nest then!”
